An Interview With David SoulsbyTell us a bit about yourself. What would you like us to know about you? I retired at 60 and launched into short-stories but gradually became dis-enchanted by constant rejection of my offerings by competition editors. So decided "If you can't beat 'em Join 'em" and published my own magazine 'Libbon' which showcases new writing talents. What are you doing now? (Career? Married? Single? Children? Pets?) I am married with 5 children and 8 grand children and frequently have to hang up the sign "Writing in Progress" to avoid constant requests for baby-sitting. What is your favourite food? Fish and Chips What is your favourite colour? Blue What is your favourite sound? The sound of the ball hitting the opposition's net at Chelsea Football Club. Who is your favourite person? Stan Lee the creator of Marvel comics and such wonderful characters as Spiderman, The X-Men and Fantastic Four. What is your favourite place? Iguassu Falls Argentina What is your favourite memory? Chelsea FC winning the FA Cup in 1970 What is your favourite article of clothing? I haven't really got one, clothing is just utilitarian; to keep you warm and dry and cover up your"naughty bits". What is your favourite word? Libbon What is your favourite writers' quote and why? What is your most favourite quality about yourself? Adaptability. If one door slams in my face I can usually find a window to open somewhere. an What is the least favourite quality about yourself? The ability to snatch defeat from the "Jaws of Victory". If you could go anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why? What inspires you to write and why? What is your favourite book and why? What is your favourite genre and why?
