An Interview With C.V. Conner, Ph.D.Tell us a bit about yourself. What would you like us to know about you? Well, I'm a 47 year old computer engineer who enjoys writing about the field and trying to get others to take a second look at how they're considering entering IT as a career. What are you doing now? (Career? Married? Single? Children? Pets?) Presently I have just completed the 4th Edition of my bestseller,"How To Become An MCSE In 3 Weeks", and for the second time in my near 10 years of writing I will step outside my known genre of technology into true-crime with a new book called NOT GUILTY BY REASONS OF INSANITY. That book is scheduled to be released in paperback in mid November 2009 by Vestri Books. What is your favourite food? You asked me that during our last interview and i'm afraid the answer hasn't changed, my favorite things to eat is still phillipino foods. What is your favourite colour? Burgundy, although you know I remarried and my wife looks so pretty in pink that i have to say it's also one of my favorite colors now. What is your favourite sound? The best sound that I can think of at the moment is the sound of my wife's voice over the phone. She has a very light accent and I could listen to her talk for hours. Who is your favourite person? Joel Osteen What is your favourite place? My hometown of Meridian, MS. What is your favourite memory? I don't think I should answer that (smile). What is your favourite article of clothing? a black and gold vest. What is your favourite word? My favorite word is, (believe it or not)whatever. What is your favourite writers' quote and why? My favorite writer's quote is "God meets us at our point of expectation. I have learned that to be so true and so I always try and keep that point in mind. What is your most favourite quality about yourself? My ability to dream. What is the least favourite quality about yourself? I would say my least favorite quality about myself is that I'm not a very patient person, i tend to get annoyed very easily. If you could go anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why? Manila Philippines because that is where my wife is at this time. What inspires you to write and why? The thing that inspires me most to write is hurting people the world over. I just feel so impressed upon to always try and write about issues that may help someone, sometimes that someone may be myself. What is your favourite book and why? I think that my favorite book is Bible Promises because it was completely God inspired. God gave me the words for that book at a time when I was desperate myself and I knew that somewhere someone else must be going through the same things. What is your favourite genre and why? Over the past 8 years or so I have begun to look at and concentrate more on the genre of relationships & Marriage. I think that so many people are hurting today because of things like extramarital affairs and cheating that not enough information is being highlighted so they can learn how to better deal with those issues. List your three favourite authors (any genre) and why? Joel Osteen, Bishop T.D.Jakes, and myself. We all tend to write somewhat alike in hopes of giving people a path for tomorrow. What do you think makes a writer successful? Honestly I believe there are a number of things that must exist for a writer to be successful, determination, being surrounded by a team that wants you to succeed, a true desire to get your word out, and so forth. Whta is it that makes you successful as a writer? I believe that my success thus far can be contributed to my hurts of the past. That is what gives me the drive and focus to do the things it takes to become a successful writer. What are your goals as a writer? My goals as a writer are pretty simple, to write about issues that really help people live a better life tomorrow. What is the best tip you can give to fellow writers? Write like there is no tomorrow, and believe in your goals and dreams no matter what. What do you hope to provide your readers with through your writing? Hope List your three favourite online writer-resource sites and why (include URLS). If you have published a book, tell us about your publishing success (title, publishing date and company, where it is available to purcahse). You can get any of my 9 books on amazon.com, targets.com and other online book sellers. You will find my titles published under Crystal Books, Dove Books, Inc, Createspace, and most recently Vestri Books which is my new publishing company. How long did it take you to write your book(s)? It usually takes me about a month to write my books, largely because of the size of the books I write. What would you do differently if you could repeat the same publishing experience? I don't think I would do anything differently if I was just starting as a new author. What have you learned about the publishing world? That it takes a lot more work than you would think to get a book published and marketed well. This is your chance to 'Talk Back' to your readers. What would you like to say to them? I would like to take the moment to say to all my readers, "Thank you all so much for allowing me to make a living doing what I love. Continue reading and I will do my best to continue writing books you love". What's the one thing that you want them to know about your writing? Everything that I write about is written with love and in hopes that it blesses your life. |
