If you could go anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why? Australia, I want to see all the animals that are only in Australia. What inspires you to write and why? When I hear about or experience sad things. I tend to write about bad things happening to people to let them know that there is always someone out there who has it worse than you. We as humans tend to wallow in our own self-pity when we could be helping out people who really need it. What is your favourite book and why? T.S. Elliott, poetry, (see above) What do you think makes a writer successful? The ability to bring something new to the writing world. Whta is it that makes you successful as a writer? Persistence, if I wouldn't have been persistent enough to resubmit work after it had been rejected, I would be nowhere. What are your goals as a writer? My goals are to write fiction and poetry that makes people think, and to be able to make a living off of my writing. What is the best tip you can give to fellow writers? Don't let yourself get depressed by rejection. Remember all those classics that you had to read that you hated. Editorial preference often plays into a rjection. What do you hope to provide your readers with through your writing? A chance to forget about all the everyday nonesense that drags you down. List your three favourite online writer-resource sites and why (include URLS). www.dictionary.com If you have published a book, tell us about your publishing success (title, publishing date and company, where it is available to purcahse). My Affair with Alfred How long did it take you to write your book(s)? I actually wrote the book in three days with no sleep. The trouble was that it then took me two years to edit it. What would you do differently if you could repeat the same publishing experience? I would start marketing earlier so that my book would come out with a big marketing blitz. What have you learned about the publishing world? You are probably the only person who truely cares about your writing. Everyone else just cares about how much money they can make off of your writting. This is your chance to 'Talk Back' to your readers. What would you like to say to them? Thank you for taking the time to read My Affair with Alfred or my poetry. I hope that you enjoyed what you read. If you have any questions you can always email me at aimeetherres@gmail.com What's the one thing that you want them to know about your writing? Just because a character says something, that doesn't mean that I believe what the character says. |
