An Interview With Charles Smith IIITell us a bit about yourself. What would you like us to know about you? My main objective is to dominate every aspect of storytelling. This begins with a true overstanding as to exactly what a story is, hence the reason I devised Spherical Writing. What are you doing now? (Career? Married? Single? Children? Pets?) As of the time of this writing, I devote all of my free time towards the advancement of my writing career and redefining the storytelling industry. What is your favourite food? I have a diverse interest in foods from across the world. I used to be a Japanese chef. If I had a single choice, I would rank Sushi as my top favorite. What is your favourite colour? BLACK. Darkness is the source of all things and the sum total of all colors of the spectrum, a sign of true wisdom. What is your favourite sound? The omnipotent vibration of the "Om" chant. Who is your favourite person? Myself. What is your favourite place? The Astral planes, as these allow a state of being that is exempt from virtualy all limitations. What is your favourite memory? Is this a trick question? What is your favourite article of clothing? I have several eccentric choices. A long black coat or robe. Martial Arts uniforms. In a more formal sense, I love ties and French cuff shirts. What is your favourite word? I'm a writer. All words are my favorite. What is your favourite writers' quote and why? "Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law" What is your most favourite quality about yourself? My individuality, something that is extremely scarce in this age of fear and conformity. What is the least favourite quality about yourself? Nothing. Unlike many people, I can honestly say I am fully content with myself. If you could go anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why? The Honbu Dojo, Japan, to train with the Grandmaster before he passes on to the next life. What inspires you to write and why? I inspire myself because as I have come to realize, writing is a state of being that allows the writer to become one with his true self and share this state of being with others. What is your favourite book and why? The Holy Tablets. Bar none, this is the most accurate account of mankind's history. What is your favourite genre and why? Genre's are simply manmade illusions that make an attempt to categorize a story's energy. However, in more relative terms, I would have to say stories that vibrate with Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror type energies. I mostly read non-fiction titles in the realm of the Occult,Ancient History, Conspiracy Fact,Religion and Martial Arts. List your three favourite authors (any genre) and why? David Icke What do you think makes a writer successful? His individuality and ability to portray his vision without bias or trying to conform to "set standards." Whta is it that makes you successful as a writer? My ideas are genuine, unique, extremely charged with passion and unswayed by potential fears of what others may think. What are your goals as a writer? ...See the first question. What is the best tip you can give to fellow writers? Know yourself before trying to write a story...this can be much harder than you think. What do you hope to provide your readers with through your writing? * Redemption from limitation. List your three favourite online writer-resource sites and why (include URLS). All are valuable sources. If you have published a book, tell us about your publishing success (title, publishing date and company, where it is available to purcahse). I owe the Success of Spherical Writing to my bold task of presenting an abstract approach to to solve many modern day storytelling problems. How long did it take you to write your book(s)? Spherical Writing has endured countless revisions and refining over 4 years because of the nature of the book's content despite being only 199 pages long. What would you do differently if you could repeat the same publishing experience? I would do nothing differently because everything I have done thus far has been executed exactly to my will and desire, and controlled by no one. What have you learned about the publishing world? My response is two-fold: This is your chance to 'Talk Back' to your readers. What would you like to say to them? Know yourself, fear nothing, and most of all, NEVER TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER. What's the one thing that you want them to know about your writing? My mission is to suspend your disbelief in every sense of the word, regardless of "genre" I may cater towards. |
