An Interview With Chuck Buckner

Tell us a bit about yourself. What would you like us to know about you?

I live in Northeast Alabama, a stone throw from where I was born 59 years ago. Except for a seven year stint in the army, I've lived here all my life.
I've loved to write all my life but have only recently gotten really involved in it. Over the years, I've spent a great deal of time outdoors.

What are you doing now? (Career? Married? Single? Children? Pets?)

I'm married (Suzan). All of my books are dedicated to her. She got me started reading books again and
to writing again also. I have two grown daughters and four grand kids,two boys and two girls.

What is your favourite food?

It would be easier to list my least favourite. Hmmm
I'd have to think about even that.

What is your favourite colour?

The colors of leaves in autumn etc.

What is your favourite sound?

Rain on an old tin roof.

Who is your favourite person?

My wife Suzan and my family.
Somewhere in my brain is a list of people who I call my heroes. They're there because of something they did out of the ordinary that I heard or read about or
saw first hand.

What is your favourite place?

On the side of a mountain, in the woods. Civilization is a dog barking, miles away, or a train faintly rumbling through in the distance.

What is your favourite memory?

That's a hard one. What was the question ?

What is your favourite article of clothing?

blue jeans, sweat shirt.

What is your favourite word?

Rhinoceros is a nice word. Rhinocerotidae, herbivorous, perissodactyl and keratinous are words used by Webster to describe Rhinoceros. All nice words.

What is your favourite writers' quote and why?

I guess, I've always thought that I've always been a little out of step with everyone else.

What is your most favourite quality about yourself?

Tolerance, Patience

What is the least favourite quality about yourself?

Timidity

If you could go anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?

Peru

What inspires you to write and why?

Things that are there because they are there, but will probably be gone some day and things that were once there because they're not there any more.

What is your favourite book and why?

I like a lot of books.
Stephen King, Edgar Rice Burroughs, Rick Bragg and
John Grisham wrote some of them.

What is your favourite genre and why?

I read all genre if I like the book

Stephen King, Edgar Rice Burroughs and Rich Bragg.

What do you think makes a writer successful?

Being able to put on paper what you see, hear, feel,
sense, smell or think so that a person reading what you have written will be able to smell, feel,think, see,or hear the same thing that you did.

Whta is it that makes you successful as a writer?

Writing what I know or using my imagination to create
people, places or things.

What are your goals as a writer?

To keep writing

What is the best tip you can give to fellow writers?

keep writing
